Ensuring Parking Lot Safety—A Priority for Our Students

The safety of our children is our top priority, and we need your help to make the school parking lot a safe environment for everyone.

Valet Lane Drop-Off

Use the Right Lane for Valet Drop-Off
Please remember to always use the right lane when dropping off your child. This lane is designated for valet drop-off to ensure a continuous flow of traffic and to minimize congestion. When you arrive, pull up all the way to the attendant near the new portable buildings. He is there every morning wearing a bright green vest. Dropping off students anywhere else in the parking lot is strictly prohibited. This helps keep the line moving efficiently and reduces wait times for everyone.

Students Must Exit from the Passenger Side Only
For the safety of your child, all students must exit the vehicle from the passenger side only. This precaution helps avoid children stepping into oncoming traffic and ensures they are safely escorted by the valet attendant who will open the car door. Parents must stay in the vehicle.

Be Prepared with Backpacks in the Car
We ask that students have their backpacks ready in the car with them. Retrieving backpacks from the trunk can be a safety hazard, as your child may end up standing between cars. Having everything ready inside the vehicle helps keep the line moving and, most importantly, keeps your child safe.

Use Sidewalks and Designated Pedestrian Paths
For the safety of all students, do not walk through the parking lot or between cars, as this can lead to accidents and injury. We have three designated pedestrian paths to ensure safe passage:
  1. Sidewalk leading to Gridley Road (North end of the parking lot)
  2. Yellow-striped path at the corner of the parking lot
  3. Sidewalk leading to Bos Street (East end of the parking lot, near the kindergarten playground)
Pets During Pick-Up and Drop-Off
For the safety of our students, if you bring a pet during pick-up or drop-off, please remain on the public sidewalk outside the parking lot*. This applies whether your pet is on a leash or being carried.
*Reasonable accommodations will be made for service animals assisting individuals with disabilities. Please contact the school principal for further assistance.

By following these simple guidelines, you are contributing to a safer, more efficient experience for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the safety of our students.
